"MANNER - would you mind?"

From the story "No one stops to say thank you anymore", I learned a lot. The first part of the story was about a homeless man stops and says thank you to a well-dressed man despite being desperate to escape a room full of disapproving people. Fortunate people think they have more manners because they are well-educated than the unfortunate ones. This implies discrimination. It is so unfair to treat them like that. I have my own observations just like one time , a scavenger approached me and asked me some peso coins. just after i gave him 5 peso coin, he thanked me. Well, I was kinda shocked. Not expecting him to thank me.

Another, as expected by many and as a culture, boys usually do the honor in opening doors for girls. In a line, boys let girls being first on the line. It symbolizes gentleness on boys. Now? seldom you could see it happen.
Familiar with the phrase "ladies first"? it is being used now as a rude language because boys usually put girls on the first if they are not sure of a situation they are in to. It is so disappointing.

The trend of today's youth is the "give and take relationship". It means helping only those people whom you think you can get some benefits for your advantage. Lucky those people who are fortunate because they can acquired a lot of benefits from the people of their own kind. Unlucky for those unfortunate ones.

Parents should be the one guiding their children, teaching them to be well-mannered. It is true for so they are the reflectors of their parents' doings.

Bottom line, we should treat people equally not minding their status in life. Elders should be respected. People who provides a helping hand for you in times of need should be given gratitude. Learn to say sorry if you had hurt anyone. Lastly, observe manners on appropriate time, person and place.

We Filipinos should preserve our world-known generosity and hospitable attitude.
But people nowadays seems to forget the essence of respect.
We should know first the true meaning of the word "LOVE" and everything follows.

  2. We should practice our good manners not just in words but also in our actions. We should preserve it for our younger generations.
